Protocol for Covid exposures or positive tests
The SoD process for managing COVID-19 exposures and positive cases reflects the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention's (CDC) current guidance for isolation, quarantine, and testing and is similar to Michigan Medicine. All workforce members should report positive Covid-19 test results or exposures to the School of Dentistry COVID reporting team by emailing SoD-COVIDfirstname.lastname@example.org
An exposure is defined as prolonged (cumulative total of >15 minutes over a 24-hour period) unmasked close contact (within 6 feet) with an individual with confirmed COVID-19.
In general, workforce members (faculty, students, staff) who test positive for COVID-19 or are exposed will receive guidance from OHS/EHS to isolate/quarantine between 7-10 days (this will vary depending on the workforce member, and is subject to change).
